The project for the Palais des Expositions in Charleroi is exemplary for a new practice that is currently reshaping the very definition of architecture. It signals a radical shift toward a culture of (adaptive) reuse.It shows that working with what’s already there can produce spatial and atmospheric qualities no new build could ever deliver.
